Reading Enrichment Camp Design 2012
$215 per camp - 9 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Prior to the first day of camp, children will be separated into groups by age/grade levels. ALL CHILDREN will be ENCOURAGED to read throughout the summer. Children can come in throughout the summer and talk about any book he/she has read and collect a big prize from our prize room. During camp time, a book will be sent home EVERY NIGHT to be read with a parent. This is critical for the success of your child during our camp and throughout the summer.
Your child’s schedule will be designed into the following FIVE STATIONS:
- Station 1 PHONICS
- Monday - Short Vowel/Long Vowel - Jeopardy
- Tuesday - Blends/Chunks Chunko - Bunco
- Wednesday - Sight Words - Bingo/Memory
- Thursday - Review - Recap Basketball
- Station 2 WRITING (letter formation, sentences, and/or stories)
- Monday - Upper/Lower Case Letters - Shaving Cream Madness
- Tuesday - Numbers/Sentence Formation - Read A Loud Game
- Wednesday - Writing to Pictures - Teacher-Dress the Part
- Thursday - Story Formation Who Am I? - Dress-up
- Station 3 READING COMPREHENSION
- Monday - Listening with a Buddy - Silly Ears
- Tuesday - Reading with a Buddy - Tag Team the Facts
- Wednesday -Group Reading - Gamblin’ Facts
- Thursday -Put it all Together - Limbo to the Facts
- Station 4 SPELLING RULES
- Monday - “Y” says I or E - Yippi Kie Yay
- Tuesday - “C” or “K” - Who’s on 1st?
- Wednesday - Adding ing rule - What’s your game?
- Thursday- Contractions - I got your back!
- Station 5 COMPUTER STATION/READING GAMES
- Monday - Starfall.com
- Tuesday - kidsreads.com
- Wednesday - bookpals.net/storyline
- Thursday - storiesfromtheweb.org
- Each station is 45 minutes long with a 30 minute lunch.
- ALL stations will play games that promote interaction with peers.
- Prize incentives will be given for reading at home, returning the books on a daily basis, demonstrating sportsmanlike conduct, and using manners during camp time.

Booking a Camp

- The 9:00 spot will be available for you to book and will reserve your spot for the entire Reading Enrichment Camp.
